Profit split
The profit split is the share of a funded account's profit that the trader keeps. The firm keeps the rest.
What it means
Many firms call the trader's share a reward rather than a payout. Some raise the split after a number of successful reward cycles, and some sell a higher split as an add on at checkout.
The split applies to profit on a funded account. The challenge fee is separate, and some firms refund it with the first reward.
Firms differ on the order of deductions. Some recover a fee before applying the split, so the first reward can be smaller than the headline split suggests. Traders should check how the first reward is calculated before they buy.
Worked example
With an 80% profit split, a trader who makes $10,000 on a funded account receives $8,000, and the firm keeps $2,000.
